Charging for Digital Gaggle
If you’ve wandered onto this page, you’re probably a bit confused and wondering why, after three years, we’ve decided to charge for the Digital Gaggle conference.
The reason? Jet Skis, bitches. We want to buy brand new, shiny, state-of-the-art Jet Skis and we can’t do that if we keep giving stuff away for free.
Truthfully, it costs an awful lot of money to put on the conference, and, we do it twice a year for you wonderful lot. We genuinely love to do it. Really love it. In-fact, helping marketers survive the wilderness of SEO, Analytics and Social Media is the key reason why Noisy Little Monkey exists and runs these kinds of events. However, it’s a fact of life that people who sign-up to free events often don’t show (about 30%, actually) and this means there are empty seats in the hall which could be filled with people like you, beautiful human, someone genuinely interested in sharing the ideas of the inspirational speakers we attract.
Since we pay travel expenses for the speakers, empty seats is a waste of money. Not to mention the armfuls of bacon sandwiches and cupcakes
we regularly have to throw away Jon ends up eating. By charging, statistics say we will have less no shows (because there’s no refunds) which means less waste.
We promise to use all the money* to make the events even more awesome for you guys.
Oh, and one other thing. We’re giving 10% of the conference tickets away to charities because we think everyone, even those who can’t afford it, should be able to come along to events like this. If you work for a charity and think someone in your marketing team would benefit from coming along to the next event, you can apply for your free ticket on the main conference page.
*Well, not all. We will get Jet Skis by 2025.
